2.9- Process Journal # 4
I will need to bring a few vehicles, a doll and action figure, along with a cop and a hospital bed.
2.8- Process Journal # 3
We have decided to do a story about robbing. The lady is going to her car from work when this guy comes up and tries to rob her for her purse. As she and the robber fight each other, a few people pass but offer her no help. The robber is hitting her hard and she starts to give up when one guy comes to her rescue and jumps on the robber. She falls to the ground bleeding heavily while the robber and guy roll around on the ground. The robber is losing so he tries to run away but the cops come so he can't leave. They arrest him and the woman is taken to the hospital. As she is recovering, the guy comes and gives her flowers. She thanks him for everything, and then he leaves.
2.7- Process Journal # 2
I would give myself a 2 because I am generally pleasant with my peers but I know that lately I haven't been able to get my work done in time. I would give my partner a 4 because he does his work but i would give him a 1 for attitude because his is very bad. He needs to stop being so aggressive and be more polite towards others.

2.6 - Brainstorm
My story idea is about who your friends are and being true to yourself. The girl in the story is being talked about and she doesn't know that the group she hangs out with are only talking to her so they can cheat off of a test that they have to take after lunch. Her other friend tells her that she shouldn't trust them but she brushes it off saying that she is jealous and that she can't talk to her anymore. When she gets

2.1-Evaluation
1. What is stop motion? an animation technique that shows a manipulated object moving on
its own through small increments of motion.
2. How is motion created using stop motion animation?
3. What material is needed to create stop motion animation?
4. How is stop motion animation different from other forms of movies?
5. Describe the steps you need to follow in order to create a stop animation film.
6. What objects are used in the films? Film # 1- a stuffed cat, a bed, a bird. Film # 2- a room with white carpet, a white button down shirt, a pair of black slacks, gray socks, a long black tie, magnet alphabet letters, a black and white halter dress, a dark blue/black car, and a bench.
7. How is music used to tell the story in both animations? the music tells you what the mood of the film is supposed to be.
8. What is the overall story in both of the films? The people or animal are trying to go somewhere.

1.11-Process journal # 4
I have made power point and i made a board resembling a more complex version of candy land. I also have started to research my math problems so I can arrange them into the game correctly
1.9-Process Journal # 3
What challenges are you having? I am having a rough time trying to find 60 math problems and its hard to make a game in general.I need to improve my work ethic and get this project done.
1.8- Design Justification
Which design did you decide to use for the game? Why did did you choose that particular design?
I decided to go with the winding mathematical road made out of plus signs and stone steps leading up the math castle.I chose this design because this was the only design I made and I liked it.

Blog # 1.7 a
At the entrance on the top right hand side of the game board will be a gate made out of division signs. The top middle part more to the left will be a semi- circle for the deck of cards . Next to it will be a rectangle for the word bank. in the middle there will be a twisting stone road made out of an elongated plus sign. the kingdom will be made out of math signs .There will be a small box on the bottom right side for the dice. I like this idea but i feel it needs more depth in design and thought to it .
Blog # 1.6- process journal # 2
I have started to plan out the design of my game board which I described in blog 1.7 a. i would give myself a 4 for self evaluation and a 4 for design and design specification. one blog is about the game board design and the other tells the game card design.

Blog # 1.4- Design Specification
Game must:
- teach/review a basic math, science, english, spanish, or humanities concept
- be on a 6th/7th grade level
- be on a board or online
- use ideas incorporated from your survey, and the games you played

Blog # 1.5 - Brainstorm
Group Members: Alaina Reynolds
Name of Game: Land of Math
Subject Area: Math
Specific Topics To Be Addressed: Increased knowledge of fractions, decimals, and percents.
Describe the game that you will be producing: The game will have a board, a deck of cards , dice, a word bank, 4 mini pads, 4 pencils. and 4 game pieces. The board will have an array of colors like candy land but the game will not be based on color. The pads will be used to show work and solve problems. The object of the game is to get to the math kingdom before the other players and to learn how to add/subtract fractions with different denominators, divide decimals by decimals, and find the percent of a number. You can play individually or in teams. Each player takes a game piece and puts it at the entrance of math land. Then the first player can take a card from the deck and read it out loud to everyone. Then you roll the dice to get the number that tells you what problem you have to do. After reading the card, everyone has to solve the problem and the first one done moves up 2 spaces if correct. If they are incorrect, then they have to stay where they are at. When using the word bank, you have a section of fill in the blanks and scrambled words. The first player rolls the dice and the number that he/she gets is the number that they have to solve in either the fill in the blanks or the scrambled words. If working in pairs, they can talk quietly among themselves to get the answer. As each person or team solves each problem, they have to cross them off on a checklist sheet and write who solved that problem. When a person or team unscrambles a word or fills in the right word, they can move up to 5 spaces if correct. The first person or team who gets to the math kingdom(house/castle) is the winner.

What are the rules of the game?
a) If a person or team can't solve the problem, they can pass but the number of passes is limited.
b) If you cheat, you will have to go back to the starting place(entrance).
What game pieces will be included in your game?
a) board
b)deck of cards
c)dice
d)word bank
e)4 mini pads
f)4 pencils
g) 4 game pieces
h) pencil sharpener
What surface is the game played on? the board will have a math themed path towards the math kingdom.
What characteristics from other games have you implemented into your game? I am using the color theme from candy land, spelling words from scrabble, and cards from cranium.
What information from the survey results will you be integrating into your final design? Do people like fractions, decimals, percents? do they like board games?

Blog #1.3-Process Journal # 1
I am working by myself and I have started my survey to get some insight on what my game should be based on specifically. I have brainstormed ideas that i could incorporate into my game from other games I played that inspired me. I have also begun to think about the layout of the game which will be based on math.
Blog # 1.2-Design Task
Working by myself or with others, I will create a game that will teach a specific math, science, english, spanish, or humanities concept. The game will be designed on a seventh grade level and will be tested/evaluated by students from that grade.

Blog # 1.1 Game Evaluation
1) What game(s) did your group play today? We played Scrabble, Candy Land , and Cranium.
2) Briefly describe how your game works. What is the objective of the game?
a-candy land b. cranium c. scrabble
A. Candy Land- You get a color piece and you pick a card that tells you which symbol or color to go to on the board. The point of the game is to get to the rainbow place at the end of the board.
B. Cranium- You and your partner pick a color box(red, green, blue, and purple) and read the directions to the other team . Then the other team has to do whatever the card says. Whichever team wins gets to go next and whatever color they win, they have to move their piece to and vice versa. The point of the game is to see who will get through the game first.
C. Scrabble- You and 2 or 3 more people take out a wooden stand and pick 7 letter tiles randomly. You stack them on your stand and try to make words on the board with letters from the other players to rack up points. If you run out of tiles or need more to make a new word , you can take out more as long as your tiles add up to seven. The point of the game is to basically make a bunch of words and get the most points.
3) Were the rules clear? If not, what made them hard to understand?
A. yes
B. At first I didn't get how to play but then it was understandable.
C. I played this game before and yes it was clear
4) Was the board attractive, colorful, ,etc.?
A. Yes because candy land is based on colors.
B. Yes because you are using certain colors to advance in the game.
C. No, because the game is based on focused on making words and really is plain looking.
5)What is one positive element of the game?
A. It's fun and easy, anyone can play it.
B. It tests you mind and you have to really think in order to play the game?
C. It's really good for people who like to read a lot or are good with words.
6) What is one specific thing that can be improved?
A. it can be more challenging.
B. The questions could be updated and more easier.
C. the board could have more color.
7) What age group is this game for? How could this game be altered to make it appropriate for a younger audience? How could this game be altered to make it appropriate for a older audience?
A. ages 6-10, it doesn't need to be, the cards could have words and the game can be more challenging.
B. ages 14-16, there needs to be less words and more pictures and the print needs to be enlarged, it already is suitable for older people.
C. ages 14 and up, they need a smaller board, it is already suitable for older people.
8) What element(s) of the game(s) that you played may be integrated into your game?
A. The colors
B. A lot of questions that you will have to think about.
C. There are going a few word puzzles where you have to spell words and fill the blanks from the word bank.
